Assistant/VP – APAC Credit Ratings Lead Analyst

About the role

Morningstar DBRS is expanding its APAC Credit Rating team in Sydney and seeks a senior analyst to lead rating assignments for structured finance transactions across the region. You will work at the intersection of analytics, market insight, and client engagement, shaping high‑quality, transparent credit ratings.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the credit rating process for securitisations, project finance debt and other structured finance transactions, ensuring alignment with Morningstar DBRS methodologies.
• Lead and support ongoing surveillance of existing APAC structured finance ratings.
• Draft internal committee memos, external reports, press releases and research pieces.
• Review transaction legal documentation and liaise with legal counsel as required.
• Analyse performance trends, contribute to research and methodology development, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Deep knowledge of structured finance products and markets, especially in Australia.
• Understanding of credit rating agency operations, regulatory environment and global capital markets.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and travel domestically or internationally as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office.
• Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, including cash‑flow analysis and data management.
