Assistant Venue Manager (Service Manager)

About the role

Open Pantry Co. is recruiting a Service Manager / Assistant Venue Manager for the Woollahra Hotel, a well-regarded pub in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. It is a floor leadership role, not an office one: you will run service, set the standard and develop a large casual team, many of whom are younger and part-time, into a service outfit that people notice. The role reports to the General Manager of Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the floor and build the team behind it
• Run service and set the standard, bringing a young team along with you
• Deliver consistency and polish on the floor; the venue already has the trade

Required profile

• Experience in quality restaurants, bistros or good pubs where steps of service matter
• A genuine track record of training and developing junior and casual staff
• Strong on the floor during service, calm under pressure
• Gaming experience is not required; it will be taught
• Full working rights in Australia; visa sponsorship is not available

What we offer

• Base salary of $80,000 to $90,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience
