Assistant Valuer

About the role

URBIS is hiring an Assistant Valuer for its Sydney team. You will support the preparation of valuations and advice that underpin land acquisitions, divestments and precinct delivery across New South Wales. Working alongside an experienced Director, you will gain hands-on exposure to property valuations, inspections and client-focused projects, building practical skills and professional relationships. The role suits a penultimate-year student or recent graduate and supports the path toward becoming a Certified Practising Valuer (CPV).

Key responsibilities

• Work with team members to deliver service to internal and external clients, and escalate matters to senior staff.
• Join qualified Valuers on property inspections to gain hands-on experience.
• Conduct online title and town planning searches and review and summarise lease documentation.
• Research and analyse investment and development transactions, and gather and interpret market data on property sales and rentals.
• Maintain and update sales and rental databases.
• Undertake financial analysis and cash flow modelling to support valuations.
• Prepare clear, well-structured written advice and presentations.

Required profile

• An API-accredited degree in progress or recently completed.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Ideal for a penultimate-year student or recent graduate.

Required skills

• Proven Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Effective report writing skills are desirable.
