Assistant Product Designer

About the role

Metricon is looking for an Assistant Product Designer to join its National Product Development Team in Robina. You will help shape residential home designs that Australians aspire to live in, working in a collaborative environment that influences product direction at a national level.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development, management and evolution of the product range.
• Work closely with Product Designers and cross‑functional teams on new and existing designs, translating concepts into detailed documentation.
• Assist in the development and documentation of home designs across the product suite.
• Prepare accurate design documentation aligned with briefs and delivery schedules.
• Contribute to floorplans, facades, site plans, internal layouts and design options.
• Support product management activities for current and new designs.
• Collaborate across teams to meet project timeframes.
• Maintain knowledge of building codes, standards and approval processes.

Required profile

• Passion for residential design and improving living environments.
• Relevant qualification in Building Design, Drafting or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a design or drafting role.
• Experience in volume residential building (highly regarded).
• Strong capability in Revit or similar CAD software.
• Solid understanding of building codes and planning requirements.
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
