Assistant Manager - Agribusiness Banking

About the role

ANZ is hiring an Assistant Manager for its Agribusiness division in Geraldton, Western Australia. Working alongside a Relationship Manager, you will look after a portfolio of agribusiness customers, helping to build specialist industry expertise and drive growth through acquisition, increased share of wallet and referrals. The role leads to many career pathways within commercial banking and offers tailored learning opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customers by developing a detailed understanding of each customer's business and financial needs
• Act in the customer's best interest, supporting their business needs with suitable products and services
• Provide solutions for account maintenance and customer needs
• Maintain a well-managed portfolio compliant with all relevant policies and procedures
• Control workflows across compliance and customer fulfilment processes
• Collaborate with product partners and other stakeholders to meet customer needs

Required profile

• Ideally prior experience in commercial banking frontline roles and commercial lending
• Ability to handle service queries and solve minor issues
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail when reviewing agreements and contracts
• Ability to assess a customer's ability to meet credit obligations using the 5Cs of credit
• Familiarity with risk management concepts, especially credit, risk and market risk
• Familiarity with KYC and AML requirements
• Preferred: agricultural industry experience, tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Economics, Accounting or Ag Science/Economics
