Assistant Accountant - Temp to Perm (Immediate Start)

About the role

A well-established company in the mining services and manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant. The position starts on a temporary basis and can become permanent depending on performance and business needs. It is full-time, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an immediate start available. The role is based in Canning Vale, WA, with relocation to Rockingham planned for May 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payable (AP) invoices and manage payment runs.
• Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including receipting and debtor follow-ups.
• Prepare month-end journals and assist with month-end reporting.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Assist with general accounting and finance administration and support the finance team with other duties as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar accounting role.
• Strong understanding of AP and AR processes, and experience preparing journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Previous experience with ERP systems.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Attention to detail, organisational skills and accuracy; able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency is essential.

What we offer

• Salary of $93,000 per annum upon transition to permanent employment.
• Casual pay rate of $50-$55 per hour.
