Area Manager

About the role

Travelex is seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead its large-scale retail operation at Sydney Airport. You will be responsible for driving growth, delivering exceptional customer service, and managing key relationships with the airport and other business partners.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of at least seven retail stores across the airport precinct.
• Develop and mentor field leaders and store teams to achieve performance targets.
• Maintain strong relationships with airport authorities and external partners.
• Analyse financial and commercial data to identify risks and opportunities.
• Lead change initiatives and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure consistent customer-centric decision-making across all locations and shifts.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience managing multiple retail sites or a big-box operation with 50+ employees.
• Proven track record of leading at least seven stores across a geographic spread.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to interpret data insights.
• Demonstrated change-management capability and ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Excellent influencing, negotiating and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Retail sales background is highly preferred.
