Architectural Draftsperson (Interiors Documentation)

About the role

COX Architecture, a design-focused architectural practice with studios in major Australian cities and Auckland, is looking for an Architectural Draftsperson specialising in interiors documentation. The role produces high-quality construction documentation sets for interior projects ranging from high-end residential fit-outs to commercial workplaces and hospitality environments, within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate detailed construction documentation including plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, joinery drawings and schedules.
• Produce and manage drawing sets using Revit and/or AutoCAD in line with studio standards and project requirements.
• Develop and maintain room data sheets, finish schedules, door and hardware schedules and FF&E documentation.
• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic consultants to integrate services into interior documentation.
• Support project coordination, maintain document control, conduct drawing quality checks and peer reviews.
• Review shop drawings and samples and respond to RFIs with the Project Lead.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Architectural Drafting, Interior Design or a related field (Bachelor's, Diploma or Certificate).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in architecture or interior design, preferably in a large-scale design practice.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and detailing for interior fit-outs.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to work with project leads, clients and consultants.

Required skills

• AutoCAD and/or Revit for interior documentation.
• Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud.
