About the role
HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for an Arabic-speaking volunteer to spend one hour each week visiting a lady who would appreciate regular companionship. The volunteer shares stories, culture and conversation with her, helping to reduce isolation and improve quality of life.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the lady once a week for 30 minutes to 1 hour, at a time between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday.
- Chat about favourite books and films, share recipes and memories, and talk about food, family and life.
- Enjoy cooking together, since she loves cooking with her family.
Required profile
- 18 years or older.
- Ability to speak Arabic.
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
