APS6 Planner - Safeguarding Advisory Team

About the role

Randstad is recruiting, on behalf of a federal government agency in the disability sector, an APS6 Planner for its Safeguarding Advisory Team in Adelaide. The role provides specialised guidance, technical knowledge and operational support on complex participant issues, working under a case management framework. It is a 12-month contract at $60.26 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Gather information and conduct risk identification and assessments for complex, sensitive participant circumstances.
• Deliver clear, evidence-based written and verbal safeguarding advice, recommendations and pathways for staff supporting at-risk participants.
• Work directly with participants who need urgent, short-term safeguarding interventions under a case management model.
• Interpret and apply relevant legislation, policy and procedural guidelines with sound judgement.
• Facilitate discussions and engage stakeholders across internal teams and external statutory bodies.
• Coach and mentor team members, monitor workflow capacity and champion continuous service delivery improvements.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship is required; a Baseline AGSVA security clearance and a current Worker Screening Check are needed.
• Desirable: prior experience in the disability sector or government, familiarity with safeguarding principles, experience with CRM/PACE systems, or a background developing operational guidance and procedural frameworks.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication, including drafting clear advice and handling sensitive conversations.
• Ability to interpret and apply statutory frameworks, government guidelines and operational procedures.
• Strong organisation and agility to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
