Application Developer

About the role

The Application Developer will design, build and maintain software, web and multimedia applications that support business outcomes for the Department of Communities and Justice. You will work within a collaborative team to deliver high‑quality solutions that improve efficiency and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare specialised code according to product definitions.
• Provide technical expertise during requirements analysis to enhance solution design.
• Conduct testing, gather feedback and improve application quality.
• Perform post‑release activities and capture knowledge for future cycles.
• Triage and resolve 2nd/3rd‑level incidents, initiate problem management and implement preventative measures.
• Develop, review and maintain documentation to support service restoration.
• Update application records in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
• Monitor service performance metrics and ensure SLA compliance with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Disciplined, organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated experience with contemporary analytics tools.
