Animal Attendant – ARH Canberra

About the role

Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) Canberra is seeking dedicated Animal Attendants to join its expanding team. This full‑time position runs from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm and supports the wellbeing of hospitalised patients by providing basic care and maintaining a clean environment.

Key responsibilities

• Cage cleaning and resetting
• Walking, feeding, and watering in‑patients and boarding animals
• Maintaining cleanliness of hospital areas, including floors, bins, and surfaces
• Assisting with patient handling and monitoring under staff direction
• Daily laundry and dishes upkeep
• Restocking consumables throughout the hospital

Required profile

• Passionate about animals and committed to their wellbeing
• Experience in an animal hospital, shelter, boarding facility, or similar environment
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and ready to roll up sleeves
• Attention to detail and pride in high standards of cleanliness and care
