Analyst - Provider Strategy Analytics

About the role

Medibank is looking for an Analyst in Provider Strategy Analytics to support decision-making on provider strategy. Working closely with the Provider Strategy team, you will deliver analytical insights and recommendations that help make timely, informed decisions to improve member and enterprise value. The role monitors healthcare efficiency, performance and quality, assesses the impact of strategic initiatives and identifies opportunities to use analytics for industry insights.

Key responsibilities

• Develop meaningful, actionable insights to support Medibank's healthcare strategies and initiatives.
• Provide analysis on new methods of healthcare funding and price changes.
• Monitor and analyse benefit outlay, with targeted commentary and insights.
• Analyse member risk profiles and advise on healthcare interventions.
• Use advanced analytics, including emerging methods such as AI and machine learning, to deliver business value.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in mathematics, informatics, economics, statistics, health, analytics or a similar discipline, or equivalent experience in a related role in a mid-to-large corporate environment.
• Strategic thinker able to analyse complex data and produce business-focused reporting and analysis.
• Strong communicator able to influence senior stakeholders and tell the story within the data.
• Previous experience in health, health insurance, general insurance or finance is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Demonstrated experience using business intelligence tools to analyse trends and data.
• Understanding of one of the following is essential: SAS, SQL, R or Python.
• Experience with dashboard development in Tableau is beneficial but not necessary.
