Analyst – Investment Performance and Regulatory Reporting

About the role

Join the Investment Performance and Regulatory Reporting team at Mercer, working in Melbourne or Sydney on a hybrid schedule. This 12‑month fixed‑term role focuses on maintaining performance datasets and supporting regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the investment performance measurement system, ensuring data integrity across custodian feeds, unit pricing, and internal records.
• Perform data quality checks, exception management and resolve discrepancies before analytics.
• Collate and document key datasets, benchmark indices and composite calculations.
• Assist senior analysts with attribution analysis and support regulatory submissions.
• Provide analytical explanations to non‑technical stakeholders and respond to ad‑hoc data requests.
• Identify automation opportunities and support audit processes.

Required profile

• High attention to detail with a track record of producing audit‑ready outputs under deadline pressure.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Power Query, VBA, complex formulae) and experience with SQL.
• Strong understanding of investment concepts, asset classes, benchmarks and risk metrics.
• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in investment performance reporting, fund operations or financial data analysis.
