AML Operations Senior Analyst

About the role

As an AML Operations Senior Analyst at ANZ, you will help protect the integrity of the financial system by detecting, investigating and mitigating money‑laundering and financial‑crime risks. The role focuses on AML investigations and Suspicious Matter Reporting to meet AUSTRAC requirements and supports global AML/CTF controls.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality AML investigations, including complex networks and emerging risks.
• Prepare and submit Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) to AUSTRAC within regulatory deadlines.
• Perform Enhanced Customer Due Diligence and interact directly with customers when required.
• Make decisions on escalated and complex investigations, ensuring risk‑appropriate outcomes.
• Coach and collaborate with team members to raise investigative standards and share knowledge.
• Monitor AML/CTF risk typologies and execute enterprise controls aligned with the Risk Management Framework.

Required profile

• Experience in AML investigations and reporting.
• Understanding of AUSTRAC requirements and financial‑crime regulations.
• Ability to work independently on high‑risk customer investigations.
