AME Avionics - Hawk LIF (Williamtown & Pearce)

About the role

Sigma Aerospace Workforce is recruiting qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) in avionics for permanent positions supporting the Hawk Lead-In Fighter (LIF) at Williamtown, near Newcastle, NSW and Pearce, WA. The work takes place in a highly regulated defence aviation maintenance environment, covering fault diagnosis and maintenance of electrical and integrated aircraft systems. Candidates with civilian aviation maintenance experience are encouraged to apply; previous military or fast jet experience is not required.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out fault diagnosis, maintenance and rectification of aircraft avionics systems.
• Work across electrical and integrated aircraft systems.
• Perform maintenance in accordance with approved technical publications and procedures.
• Ensure work meets technical, quality and certification requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Work in a high-performance maintenance team with a focus on safety, quality and compliance.

Required profile

• Aircraft avionics maintenance experience, including practical fault diagnosis of electrical and integrated systems.
• Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) is mandatory; relevant MEA qualifications are also required.
• Alternative avionic qualifications may be considered after client assessment.
• Australian citizenship.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (Baseline or NV1); an active clearance is not needed at application.
• Ability to obtain and maintain ITAR eligibility.
• Willingness to relocate between Williamtown and Pearce, with relocation assistance available.
