All Purpose Orderly (Casual) - Kununurra

About the role

Kununurra Health Service is looking for a reliable, adaptable All Purpose Orderly to support its team in the East Kimberley. The role combines cleaning, patient assistance, transport and general safety duties to keep the hospital running smoothly. It is a casual position at HSW level 3-4, starting mid-November 2026 and running until mid-January 2027, with possible extensions.

Key responsibilities

• Clean hospital departments, including clinical areas, in line with infection control standards.
• Assist nursing staff with lifting, turning and bathing patients, using lifting equipment as required.
• Transport patients by wheelchair, trolley, bed or vehicle.
• Drive patients, staff and supplies, and help keep vehicles clean and fueled.
• Support hospital safety and security, including after-hours duties and incident response.
• Assist with mortuary duties, such as preparing deceased persons for viewing and maintaining the mortuary.
• Replenish linen supplies and help move furniture.

Required profile

• Ability to work efficiently, independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
• Commitment to customer service, quality and continuous improvement.
• Current C Class driver's licence.
• Desirable: experience in a cross-cultural environment, and knowledge of equal opportunity, disability services and workplace health and safety.
