Airline Terminal Officer

About the role

Service Stream's Defence division is looking for an Airline Terminal Officer for a permanent full-time position at RAAF Darwin. You will help keep the ground services for airline passengers and aircraft safe, efficient and customer focused, acting as a frontline representative of the airline while following regulatory and operational procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist passengers during check-in, boarding and disembarkation
• Handle baggage: loading, unloading, sorting and transferring luggage
• Operate ground service equipment such as tugs, belt loaders and air stairs according to safety protocols
• Carry out aircraft turnaround services including cabin cleaning, restocking supplies and lavatory servicing
• Monitor and report irregularities or safety concerns about aircraft, passengers or equipment
• Communicate with airline staff, ground crew and airport authorities to coordinate operations
• Ensure compliance with aviation security regulations and workplace health and safety standards
• Answer passenger questions accurately about flights and services

Required profile

• Australian citizen able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
• Background in aviation, airport operations or customer service
• Experience in passenger check-in; strong communication and teamwork in fast-paced, physically demanding, shift-based work
• Ability to obtain Forklift licensing

Required skills

• Competent with baggage systems and ground support equipment; qualified to drive light rigid and medium rigid vehicles
• Skilled in cargo preparation and acceptance, including dangerous goods
• Certificate III in Aviation (Flight Operations), Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
