Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical (P‑8A)

About the role

Join Airbus as a Mechanical Aircraft Maintenance Engineer supporting the RAAF P‑8A Poseidon fleet at RAAF Base Edinburgh. You will work full‑time on a 9‑day fortnight schedule, ensuring the aircraft remain mission‑ready and compliant with airworthiness standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑aircraft and off‑aircraft mechanical maintenance, inspections and approved fleet modifications.
• Diagnose, fault‑find and rectify complex mechanical system issues in a fast‑paced environment.
• Document work using Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs) and military airworthiness management systems.
• Maintain strict compliance with airworthiness regulations and promote a proactive safety culture.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) or recognised equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a B‑level Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence for the P‑8A platform.
• Proven experience with aircraft mechanical systems, fault isolation and airworthiness regulations.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills and a collaborative, team‑first attitude.

Required skills

• Mechanical aircraft maintenance and component inspection.

• Standard computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
