AI Safety Specialist (English & Telugu) – Remote

About the role

Mercor is seeking an AI Safety Specialist fluent in English and Telugu to work remotely on red‑teaming conversational AI models. The contractor will help identify jailbreaks, prompt injections, and other misuse cases, producing actionable reports for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Red‑team conversational AI models and agents to uncover jailbreaks, prompt injections, and misuse scenarios.
• Generate high‑quality human data by annotating failures, classifying vulnerabilities, and flagging systemic risks.
• Follow established taxonomies, benchmarks, and playbooks to ensure consistent testing and documentation.
• Produce reproducible reports, datasets, and attack cases that customers can act on.
• Work independently and asynchronously, maintaining flexible hours while improving AI model performance.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and Telugu.
• Prior red‑team or adversarial experience in AI, cybersecurity, or socio‑technical probing.
• Ability to explain technical risks clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
