Aged Care Wellbeing Officer (Casual)

About the role

IRT Group, a community-owned provider of independent living, aged care and home care, is hiring two casual Wellbeing Officers in its Wellbeing Services team. The role plans, implements and oversees programs and activities that enhance the well-being and quality of life of elderly residents, meeting their physical, emotional and social needs. The two positions are based at Greenwell Gardens and Culburra Place, and at Basin Shores and Sarah Claydon.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging onsite activities such as bingo, floor bowls, crafts and special events
• Develop and plan social, recreational and cultural activities
• Assist residents on bus trips and community outings
• Support resident participation and offer warm companionship
• Take into account residents' needs, values and cultural preferences

Required profile

• Certificate III in Aged Care or recognised equivalent, with competencies verified and approved by the delegated officer
• Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one
• Knowledge of the needs of persons living with dementia (desirable)
