Aerospace Worker - RSAF MLSS Program

About the role

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is recruiting an Aerospace Worker for its Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team, supporting the RSAF MLSS program at Swartz Barracks, Oakey, Queensland. This is an entry-level, permanent position with hands-on work on the RSAF CH-47F fleet and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Handle and manoeuvre aircraft on the flight line and refuel as necessary
• Provide workshop assistance under the mentorship of experienced staff
• Maintain aircraft hangars and Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
• Assist tradespeople with site-related tasks
• Manage supply duties, including packing and transporting goods
• Follow Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures

Required profile

• Australian citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain a baseline AGSVA security clearance
• C class driver's licence
• Willingness to undergo the government security clearance vetting process and to provide full background information
• Team player with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to task management
• Willingness to learn and to work in a close-knit team

Required skills

• Commitment to safety and adherence to EH&S regulations
• Initiative and task prioritisation under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
• Previous aircraft or mechanical trades experience, and proficiency in aircraft handling and refuelling, are desirable
• Certificate II in Aeroskills or the ability to obtain it is desirable

• Pay of $43.11 or $45.50 per hour depending on experience, plus superannuation
