Advanced Trainee – General Medicine (Full‑time)

About the role

The Hospital, a specialist referral and trauma centre located 150 km east of Melbourne, is seeking an enthusiastic Advanced Trainee in General Medicine. This fixed‑term, full‑time position (86 hours per fortnight) starts in August 2026 and offers the chance to deliver high‑quality patient care in a regional setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day medical care for patients under senior supervision.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient management plans.
• Assist in emergency and trauma care within the specialist referral centre.
• Document clinical observations, investigations and treatment outcomes accurately.
• Engage in on‑call duties and respond to acute patient presentations as required.

Required profile

• Medical graduate eligible for registration in Australia.
• Willingness to relocate to Traralgon or reliably commute.
• Commitment to a fixed‑term full‑time position (86 hours per fortnight) starting August 2026.
• Strong interest in general medicine and trauma care.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and patient management.
• Basic procedural skills (e.g., venipuncture, IV insertion).
• Effective communication within a multidisciplinary team.
