Advanced Psychologist - Heart and Lung Transplant Services

About the role

Metro North Health is looking for an Advanced Psychologist to lead specialised transplant psychology services, providing advanced assessment and intervention for heart and lung transplant patients. The role also drives service innovation, research and strategic clinical leadership at local, state-wide and national levels. It is a permanent full-time position based in Brisbane North.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver specialised transplant psychology services, supporting patients with complex cardiac and respiratory conditions through every stage of the transplant journey.
• Work as a valued member of a multidisciplinary transplant team, influencing holistic patient care and outcomes.
• Lead quality improvement, service development and research initiatives.
• Provide expert clinical leadership, consultation and advice across hospital, state-wide and national healthcare networks.
• Mentor and supervise psychologists, interns and students, contributing to education and workforce development.
• Expand expertise through ongoing professional development, research collaboration and advanced clinical practice.

Required profile

• Able to deliver the accountabilities listed above in line with Metro North Health's values.
• Experience leading specialised psychological services and mentoring psychologists, interns and students.
