Administration Officer – Museum & Art Gallery

About the role

The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) is seeking an Administration Officer to support the daily operations of its Alice Springs site. This full‑time position plays a pivotal role in keeping the museum running smoothly, from facilities management to visitor services.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee facilities management and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
• Supervise and roster Visitor Experience Officers, coordinating staff schedules.
• Manage admissions, retail operations, and program bookings.
• Support the planning and execution of events and exhibitions.
• Provide general administrative support to the Regional Museums and Central Australia Site Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience in administration within a cultural, heritage or similar environment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple operational areas.
• Experience supervising staff and handling rostering duties.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and ability to interact with diverse visitors.
• Ability to work flexibly, including part‑time arrangements if required.
