Acoustic Consultant

About the role

Join Arup’s Acoustics practice in Melbourne and help grow the consulting capability across Victoria. You will work on diverse projects, providing acoustic design and assessment while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across Australasia and globally.

Key responsibilities

• Perform acoustic analysis using calculations, modelling tools, and field measurements.
• Develop environmental noise predictions for a variety of projects.
• Provide technical acoustic advice across sectors such as infrastructure, residential, commercial, energy, and performance buildings.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary design teams to deliver high‑quality work on time.
• Manage small to medium sized projects, overseeing time, cost, and quality while building strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Member of the Australian Acoustical Society.
• At least 4 years of experience in acoustics.
• Strong analytical capability with advanced mathematical and modelling skills.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and problem‑solving abilities, able to work effectively under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with technical acoustics software, preferably SoundPLAN.
• Experience with acoustic measurement equipment and consulting practices.
