Accounts Receivable Team Leader

About the role

The Accounts Receivable Team Leader based in Mascot will manage collection, administrative and risk activities for Coates' AR‑Collections team. Reporting to the National Credit Manager, you will drive cash‑flow optimisation, mitigate credit risk and ensure compliance with policies while building strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full collection process, leading the team to keep bad debts low and cash flow high.
• Champion a Safety‑First culture and ensure compliance with company and credit policies.
• Conduct regular performance and development reviews, providing coaching and training.
• Build solid relationships with internal stakeholders, resolve disputes and support the National Credit Manager with doubtful‑debt recommendations.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in finance or related field (e.g., Certificate IV, CCE, Diploma in Credit Management).
• 6‑8 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable and Credit Management, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong problem‑solving ability with a focus on results and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with customers and senior management.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of credit risk and collection techniques.
• Familiarity with accounting principles and the order‑to‑cash process.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation governing credit and collections.
