Accounts Receivable Officer

About the role

Gema Group is seeking an Accounts Receivable Officer to join its finance team in Silverwater, Sydney. You will be responsible for managing the full accounts receivable cycle, ensuring timely collections and maintaining accurate financial records while providing a professional point of contact for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end accounts receivable processes, from invoice review to payment reconciliation.
• Process and record payments, adjustments, and credit notes accurately.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to encourage prompt payment.
• Address and resolve customer inquiries and disputes related to invoices and payments.
• Maintain up‑to‑date AR records and reconcile them against financial statements.
• Prepare regular reports on outstanding debts and collection activities.
• Monitor overdue accounts and take appropriate actions to progress collections.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues affecting receivables.
• Identify and implement improvements to AR processes and adopt best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounts receivable, finance, or a related field.
• Strong organisational abilities with capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping and reporting.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and adapting to change.
