Accounts & Administration Officer

About the role

QVC Group, a family-owned and operated group supplying quarry materials and related services to the civil construction industry in Central Queensland, is hiring full-time Accounts & Administration Officers in Rockhampton. Positions are open to junior applicants wanting to develop their skills as well as experienced candidates ready to contribute from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase orders and record accounts payable transactions across multiple entities.
• Process accounts receivable invoices, reconcile transactions and issue customer statements.
• Allocate fuel usage across sites and reconcile related transactions.
• Liaise with staff, suppliers and contractors to resolve discrepancies and queries on financial transactions.
• Assist with financial reporting and timesheet recording across entities.
• Support the maintenance function through data entry, purchasing and record keeping.
• Contribute to improving financial processes and systems.
• Provide general administrative support such as spreadsheet preparation, data entry, filing, weighbridge coverage and office housekeeping.

Required profile

• Positive work ethic, collaborative and independent, able to manage several tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good verbal and written communication and strong attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, or willingness to learn; previous experience is an advantage but not essential.
• Current Australian driver's licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks is desirable.
