Accountant

About the role

Lee Millar Accounting is seeking an on‑site Accountant to join its Hamilton Hill office. You will work directly with a diverse client base across the Greater Perth Area, handling day‑to‑day tax and accounting tasks while supporting the firm’s commitment to accurate, reliable financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Maintain accurate financial records and perform account reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, assist with budgeting and cash‑flow analysis.
• Ensure compliance with local and national tax laws and regulations.
• Communicate with clients to gather information, clarify issues, and provide tax guidance.
• Support process improvements and collaborate with colleagues to meet deadlines.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of tax accounting principles and compliance requirements.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certification (IPA, CPA) is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of experience in public practice or a tax accounting firm, preferably with SME clients.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as MYOB, Xero or similar.
• Advanced Excel and general computer skills.
