Accountant – Frankston

About the role

We are seeking an Accountant to join our Frankston team, delivering tax and compliance services to a diverse client base. You will work in a supportive, award‑winning firm that values professional development and work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare income tax returns for individuals and partnerships, including capital gains tax events, rental schedules and sole trader returns.
• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns.
• Develop expertise in entity preparation across company and trust structures.
• Review your own work for accuracy before senior review, ensuring high quality and attention to detail.
• Communicate with clients on day‑to‑day matters and provide tax advice.
• Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office and other third parties on behalf of clients when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 1–2 years’ experience in Australian public‑practice accounting.
• Exposure to core tax concepts such as GST and individual tax returns.
• Willingness to develop client‑engagement skills.
• Working toward or planning to commence CPA/CA qualification (optional).
• Knowledge of Division 7A, FBT and trust structures is a plus.
