Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

Join the Finance team at Austin Group’s Support Office in Malvern as an Accountant supporting the GAZMAN brand. You will own month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliations, compliance and commercial analysis, working closely with the Finance Manager and wider business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end close, ensuring accurate transaction recording and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and lodge BAS, payroll tax and workers compensation compliance.
• Support annual budgeting, financial forecasts and quarterly KPI reporting.
• Post fortnightly payroll journals, adjust leave provisions and maintain supplier records.
• Provide ad‑hoc commercial analysis to aid business decisions.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CA/CPA qualification preferred or in progress.
• Previous accounting experience, ideally in retail or services.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving capability.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to meet multiple deadlines.

Required skills

• Intermediate Excel proficiency.
• Experience with balance‑sheet reconciliations and month‑end accounting.
• Knowledge of accruals, pre‑payments and fixed assets.
• Familiarity with BAS, payroll tax and workers compensation compliance.
