Account Manager - Public Sector Insurance Broking

About the role

Marsh is looking for an Account Manager to join its Adelaide team and support a portfolio of local councils across South Australia. This is a client-facing insurance broking role focused on service excellence, relationship management and portfolio growth, working with local government clients who use Marsh to manage risk and support the communities they serve.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of public sector clients with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
• Support the operation of managed schemes for local government clients.
• Work with clients to understand their risk profile and recommend appropriate insurance and risk transfer solutions.
• Provide claims advocacy, technical support and trusted guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to broaden cover, grow existing business and support new business development.
• Travel to meet clients, predominantly across South Australia.

Required profile

• Insurance broking experience, ideally in a client servicing or account management role.
• Experience across SME, commercial, ISR, motor, public liability or a combination of these areas.
• Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) or relevant tertiary qualifications are highly regarded.
• Appropriate approval to work in Australia; a criminal and bankruptcy check is required before starting.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with a diverse client base.
• Practical understanding of insurance products, broking principles and risk management.
