Account Manager & Field Staff Trainer – Commercial Cleaning

About the role

We are looking for an Account Manager to lead the operational delivery of a large commercial cleaning portfolio that includes schools, offices, banks and other facilities. This hands‑on role ensures cleaning standards are met, supports field staff, manages client relationships and oversees day‑to‑day operational requirements across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and proactively identify issues before they escalate.
• Retrain cleaners on‑site and raise cleaning standards across the portfolio.
• Support cleaners and supervisors with operational challenges, absenteeism and performance.
• Manage daily staffing needs, shift coverage and roster changes.
• Approve timesheets, leave requests and manage roster adjustments.
• Meet with clients to maintain strong working relationships.
• Demonstrate equipment, machinery and cleaning procedures on‑site.
• Follow up on operational issues and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Test and tag equipment to maintain compliance.

Required profile

• Experience leading or supporting frontline operational teams in cleaning or a similar environment.
• Strong communication and relationship‑management abilities.
• Confidence in training, mentoring and supporting field staff on‑site.
• Practical understanding of machinery, equipment and safe work practices.
• High attention to detail and commitment to cleaning standards.
• Excellent organisational, problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, use initiative and manage competing priorities.
• Capability to hold teams accountable and drive performance outcomes.
• Sound knowledge of WHS requirements, SOPs, JSAs/Risk Assessments and safe equipment operation.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain a National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check.
• Current full driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and ability to manage after‑hours operational issues.
