Account Director

About the role

Macquarie Technology Group is seeking an experienced Account Director to lead a strategic Tier 1 Government account from either its Canberra or Sydney office. The role involves shaping multi‑year technology transformation programmes and positioning Macquarie as a long‑term partner across cloud, cyber security, networking, data‑centre and managed services.

Key responsibilities

• Own and grow a Tier 1 Government account, building relationships with executive, technology, commercial and procurement stakeholders.
• Develop and execute multi‑year account and transformation strategies aligned to customer priorities.
• Lead complex, high‑value opportunities from discovery through solution development, negotiation and delivery.
• Mobilise internal technical, commercial and delivery teams to achieve customer outcomes.
• Navigate government procurement processes, tenders and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven experience selling into Tier 1 Federal Government or large enterprise environments.
• Strong track record in complex strategic transformation and multi‑year technology programmes.
• Executive‑level relationship and influencing skills with CIOs, CISOs, CTOs and senior government leaders.
• Deep understanding of government procurement, tenders and commercial negotiations.
• Australian Government security clearance or prior experience holding one.
