2nd Steward - Guest Services and Bar

About the role

The 2nd Steward supports the Chief Steward in delivering exceptional guest services on board a ship, starting in October 2025. The role covers guest accommodation, dining and bar services, and includes guiding the 3rd Steward. Remuneration is stated as above market salary.

Key responsibilities

• Guest accommodation: help prepare and maintain guest cabins so they are clean, comfortable and well-equipped, and respond to guest requests in close cooperation with the housekeeping team.
• Dining and bar: support the dining room staff and the culinary team, and prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at the bar according to recipes and guest preferences.
• Guest interaction: act as a point of contact for guests, handle concerns and complaints professionally and efficiently, and help address dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Inventory: manage guest supplies, amenities and bar stock, and monitor usage and costs to keep budgets under control and minimise waste.
• Events: support onboard events and activities, assisting the Chief Steward and the Cruise Director and working with other departments.
• Health and safety: follow food safety standards and sanitation practices, take part in training and stay aware of emergency procedures.
• Team support: guide and support the 3rd Steward and collaborate with other stewards.

Required profile

• Previous experience in hospitality, tourism or guest services is beneficial.
• Experience in bar work, including preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
