About the role
Kickstart your career as a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice with QantasLink in Sydney. You will join a four‑year apprenticeship that blends classroom learning with hands‑on experience on Qantas Group aircraft, rotating through key engineering areas.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect and diagnose faults on airframe, engine and mechanical components.
- Work on undercarriage, wheels, brakes, pressurisation, hydraulic, pneumatic, flight‑control and environmental systems.
- Rotate through relevant business units to gain broad exposure to aircraft maintenance.
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to Qantas’s safety culture.
Required profile
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn a hands‑on trade.
- Good manual dexterity and ability to use a range of hand tools.
- Proactive attitude, high drive and strong teamwork.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
- Availability to start early 2027 and work all shift patterns.
