Youth Worker - Residential Care (QLD)

About the role

HenderCare is expanding into Queensland and is looking for Youth Workers to join its Residential Care services. Working within the Hope and Healing framework, the role supports children and young people to form positive beliefs about themselves, build trusting and respectful relationships and contribute to their well-being and development. Shifts are typically 8 hours and may include overnight sleeping shifts, with a flexible roster.

Key responsibilities

• Provide emotional support and guidance
• Support a child or young person's well-being and development
• Act as a positive role model
• Provide school support with homework and projects
• Assist with daily routines and attend appointments
• Respond to and manage crises, including reporting

Required profile

• Enrolled to complete or has completed a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (preferred), Community Services, Youth Work or Disability
• First aid certificate (HLTAID012) issued within the past 3 years and CPR certificate (HLTAID009) issued within the past 12 months
• Clear National Police check and a current Blue Card/Working with Children check, NDIS Workers Screening check, or a combined check
• Australian working rights
• Current QLD driver's licence (P2 or above) and a fully registered private vehicle
