Youth Residential Recovery Support Worker

About the role

Wellways is recruiting a Youth Residential Recovery Support Worker for its Kuna Bim Youth Residential Rehabilitation (YRR) program, funded by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services. The program supports young people aged 16 to 24 who are experiencing or at risk of mental health challenges and need help with their daily lives. This is a casual role based out of Warrnambool, VIC, with afternoon shifts and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Engage participants in the program where appropriate and build professional, trusting working relationships.
• Provide regular face-to-face support, monitoring and offering support around key areas.
• Develop meaningful activities and encourage participants' engagement.
• Encourage linkages to a range of activities, including other Wellways services, to support achievement of goals.
• Provide direct practical support so participants can attain the skills needed for their goals, including group activities as appropriate.

Required profile

• Certificate III qualification or above, or commensurate experience, in a support role for people with mental health issues.
• Experience working with young people.
• Current valid driver's licence and ability to travel for the role.
• Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check.
• Right to work in Australia and a satisfactory National Police Record check (less than 12 months old).
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate.

• Pay of $52.08 per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging options.
