Youth Access Worker - headspace Wonthaggi

About the role

Relationships Australia Victoria is recruiting a Youth Access Worker for its headspace Wonthaggi centre. Reporting to the Centre Manager, you will join a multidisciplinary team supporting young people aged 12-25 on their mental health journey. The role is based in Wonthaggi, is part-time (0.8 FTE, four days per week) and is temporary until July 2027, with one day expected to be an evening shift.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as one of the first points of contact for young people, building meaningful relationships.
• Provide screening, assessments, referrals, brief interventions and care coordination tailored to each young person's needs.
• Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and implement strategies to promote safety and wellbeing.
• Work with the clinical team on case discussions and clinical supervision, contributing to evidence-based care.

Required profile

• Degree in health, behavioural/social sciences, community services or a related discipline, with knowledge of assessing and working with young people at risk.
• Experience in screening activities to determine client needs and help clients access services.
• Experience in the youth and/or mental health sector.
• Registration with AHPRA or full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (desirable).
