Yard Person, Workshop Assistant

About the role

A leading Australian cooling components repair specialist is hiring a Yard Person / Workshop Assistant in Parkhurst, Rockhampton, through WorkPac. The role is casual, paid $41.25 per hour, and covers receiving, storing and dispatching parts and components for the workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the laydown area to the approved plan, keeping it organised and tidy
• Receive goods, check deliveries against the docket and record their location
• Collect and attach tags to components and parts, and pick and stage parts
• Prepare components for freight, including detailing, packaging and labelling, and load them with a forklift or manual handling
• Dispatch goods and deliver and collect parts and components by medium rigid vehicle
• Transfer components between bays with a forklift and liaise with workshop personnel on workshop requirements
• Conduct housekeeping in the workshop, laydown areas, amenities and car park, and liaise with waste and general maintenance contractors
• Assist stores where required and help with stocktakes

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Drivers licence
• HR forklift licence
• Basic computer literacy

Roster and conditions

• Monday to Thursday 6am to 3pm, Friday 5am to 2pm
• 8-hour days with two 30-minute breaks, 40-hour week
• Local role with competitive pay
