Workshop Technician – Heavy Mobile Equipment

About the role

Join Komatsu Australia's workshop team in Welshpool as a Workshop Technician (HD Fitter). You will act as the second‑in‑charge, supporting the leading hand and stepping up to lead day‑to‑day workshop operations while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with Komatsu standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership across workshop activities and step up as required.
• Support the leading hand in managing the workshop and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Build and test a wide variety of mobile machines in the PDI department.
• Perform base assembly, fitment of customer‑specified options, and performance testing of machinery.
• Maintain high‑quality workmanship and adhere to Komatsu standards.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent.
• Full “C” Class driver’s licence.
• Current Elevated Work Platform (EWP) and working‑at‑heights certification (desirable).
• Proven experience in a leading‑hand or second‑in‑charge capacity.
• Willingness to complete a full pre‑employment medical check and random drug testing.
• Certificate IV in Leadership and Management (desirable).
