Wireless Blast Technician

About the role

Orica, a global leader in mining and civil blasting, is recruiting a Wireless Blast Technician for its WebGen technology. The role is based in Regional New South Wales and supports multiple customers in the region. It is hands-on, supporting site-level projects, giving expert advice, product stewardship and training to customers. Training is provided, so prior knowledge of WebGen is not required.

Key responsibilities

• Key site delivery role in WebGen blasting projects and trials on customer sites
• Provide product stewardship support to customer stakeholders on site
• Work within the Orica Technical Services Team to deliver high-quality blast results
• Build lasting relationships with customers
• Deliver safety initiatives aligned with Orica's and customers' values

Required profile

• Backgrounds such as underground shotfirers, charge-up operators, underground communications technicians or ex-military personnel are welcomed
• An underground mining background is an advantage but not mandatory
• A current shotfiring licence or an engineering degree is an advantage but not mandatory
• Enthusiasm for delivering innovative technology to customers
• Strong communication skills and ability to quickly learn new systems
• Process-driven and procedurally disciplined
