Waste Collection Operator

About the role

The Waste Services team at the City of Gosnells is seeking a safety‑focused individual to operate waste collection vehicles on a nine‑day fortnight roster. You will help keep the community clean by delivering reliable waste collection services and supporting the team’s daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently across assigned routes.
• Perform basic maintenance and inspections on heavy vehicles.
• Follow waste collection systems, equipment procedures, and health‑and‑safety protocols.
• Ensure timely collection and delivery of waste while maintaining service quality.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve operational targets.

Required profile

• Commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Experience in safe operation of heavy vehicles (waste collection experience desirable but not essential).
• Willingness to learn waste collection equipment and procedures through structured training.
• Reliable, self‑motivated approach with the ability to perform routine tasks consistently.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload priorities.
• Current HR driver’s licence.
• Current police clearance (to be provided later as a condition of appointment).
