Waste Auditor

About the role

Elephants Foot Consulting is seeking a Waste Auditor to join its Sydney‑based team. This hybrid role combines on‑site waste auditing, data analysis, client engagement and report preparation to help clients improve waste and recycling performance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct waste audits, bin room assessments and site inspections across Greater Sydney.
• Evaluate existing waste and recycling systems, including chutes, bin rooms, collection arrangements and operational practices.
• Collect and analyse waste data such as volumes, contamination rates, recovery rates and costs.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve recycling and organics diversion, and lower costs.
• Prepare clear, professional audit reports and present practical recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
• Support clients with follow‑up reviews, ongoing audits, compliance requirements and performance reporting.

Required profile

• Practical, analytical and able to work independently on site and collaboratively with clients.
• Experience or qualifications in waste management, environmental management, sustainability or related fields.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to turn data into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent written communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel across Greater Sydney.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, especially strong Excel skills.
