About the role
Strait Link, which provides daily sea freight between Port Melbourne and Port Burnie, is hiring a Washbay Attendant in Hobart, Tasmania. The role is permanent and full time, and its purpose is to clean, repair and maintain Strait Link-owned and customer-owned equipment, and to provide maintenance services to clients.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out all instructions within set timeframes
- Wash and clean shipping containers
- Inspect, survey, repair and maintain transport and shipping line equipment
- Report all damages, faulty equipment or accidents
- The position may also include general labouring duties
Required profile
- Able to work without direct supervision
- Sound knowledge of safe working practices
- Strong service orientation
- Good time management skills
- Able to communicate well
- Ability to work safely and efficiently
