Veterinary Nurse - Wetherill Park

About the role

A full-time Veterinary Nurse is sought for Greencross Wetherill Park, a busy clinic in Sydney's western suburbs. The role supports the veterinarians and ensures high standards of patient care across a diverse medical and surgical caseload, in a collaborative and supportive team.

Key responsibilities

• Pre- and post-operative patient care
• Surgical nursing assistance, anaesthetic monitoring and patient recovery
• Animal pathology and diagnostic testing
• Hospital nursing and inpatient care
• Emergency and critical care nursing support
• Performing minor procedures within your scope of practice
• Maintaining cleanliness and infection control
• Supporting reception and client services when required
• Delivering excellent care and customer service to clients and patients

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Veterinary Nurse
• Passion for veterinary nursing and enjoyment of a fast-paced environment
• Ability to stay calm, efficient and adaptable in a busy clinic

Required skills

• Confidence assisting with surgery, anaesthesia and patient recovery
• Strong animal handling and clinical nursing skills
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
• Outstanding communication and client service skills
• High attention to detail and accurate record keeping
• Experience with RX Works is advantageous but not essential
