Underground Mining Engineer – Senior – $230k+

About the role

Prime Mining is seeking experienced Underground Mining Engineers, including senior level professionals, to support Tier 1 mining clients in Western Australia. The positions operate on an 8‑day‑on/6‑day‑off FIFO roster based out of Perth and involve hands‑on consultancy in mine planning and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mine production plans covering lateral/vertical development, stope notes, level and caving plans.
• Perform scheduling and forecasting using Deswik Scheduler to support site planning and execution.
• Design and plan drill‑and‑blast programmes for both production and development activities.
• Create ventilation and backfill designs, and provide execution support.
• Lead and mentor client teams across the above disciplines as a senior engineer.
• Potentially step into Underground Manager roles with generous remuneration packages.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mining, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Current Australian driver’s licence.
• Proven practical experience in underground mining operations within Australia.
• Strong communication, time‑management and safety‑focused mindset.
• Willingness to relocate to Perth or the surrounding region if not already based there.
