Trust Accountant - Securitisation and Structured Finance

About the role

A growing specialist financial services business in Sydney CBD is looking for a Trust Accountant to join its team, working across a diverse portfolio of securitisation and structured finance transactions. This is a hybrid position and a permanent placement, suitable for someone wanting to take the next step in their career with broader trust management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of an assigned portfolio of trusts and oversee the day-to-day financial and operational management of securitisation structures.
• Prepare, populate and reconcile trust cash accounts and financial reconciliations.
• Oversee monthly trust accounting and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Manage trust funding and subscription processes.
• Perform cashflow distribution and waterfall calculations.
• Identify and resolve financial discrepancies, liaising with servicers and originators.
• Coordinate payment instructions with trustees and ensure distributions are processed accurately.
• Maintain and develop financial models, with ongoing training and support.
• Build strong relationships with clients, lenders, investors and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Background in Trust Accounting or trust management.
• Understanding of trust structures, financial SPVs or fund administration.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Strong communication skills and confidence managing multiple stakeholder relationships.

• High attention to detail.
