Truck Driver (MC) - Bromelton

About the role

SCT Logistics, Australia's largest privately owned rail and freight logistics company, is hiring a truck driver in Bromelton, Queensland. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the driver delivers freight locally and occasionally interstate, travelling to customer sites and preparing trucks for loading and unloading. The position is permanent and full time.

Key responsibilities

• Run to timeslots, delivering general freight in and around regional and metropolitan areas, and occasionally interstate
• Travel to customer sites and prepare trucks to be unloaded and loaded
• Respond flexibly to business needs at short notice
• Secure and restrain loads safely according to operational requirements
• Perform vehicle pre-start checks and complete all paperwork requirements
• Keep prime movers, trailers, SCT and customer premises tidy
• Comply with site requirements and other matters directed by the company

Required profile

• Current MC driver's licence
• Singles and B-double driving experience
• Impressive safe driving record and commitment to a safe work environment
• Impressive customer service
• Reliable, punctual, honest and motivated, with flexibility on start and finish times

Required skills

• Operation of a prime mover and trailer sets
• Safe and efficient freight transport
• Knowledge of the Chain of Responsibility
• Load restraint procedures
